I had the opportunity to take part in two Heya Sessions: first as a stand-up comedian, and later as a singer-songwriter performing with guitar and vocals.
If there is one word that comes up again and again when people talk about the Heya Sessions, it is kindness. And that is no coincidence. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that it is a true safe space, where everyone is welcomed with the same attention, care, and respect.
What also makes these evenings so special is their artistic diversity. A comedian follows a singer, a poem comes before a dance performance, a musician shares the stage with a storyteller… You never quite know what to expect, and that is exactly what makes every Heya Session unique.
Whether you are on stage or in the audience, you experience much more than a performance. You meet wonderful people, discover hidden gems, laugh, feel moved, and sometimes even shed a few tears. You leave with the feeling of having shared a genuinely human moment.
And then there is the energy, the generosity, and the love that flow throughout the entire evening. In today’s world, that is both precious and necessary.
Thank you, Mélanie, for creating these magical moments where artists can express themselves freely and where audiences leave a little richer than when they arrived.
